All sprinters in 100 meter final at the 2000 Sydney Olympics were suspected in application of anabolic steroids. Can you imagine it? Although many things were done to prevent administration of the banned drugs in sport, it is not free from these medications.
Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, pointed out in an interview about intake of steroids by the 100 meter finalists of the 2000 Olympics. Maurice Greene, Ato Boldon, Obadele Thompson, Darren Campbell, Dwain Chambers, Aziz Zakari, Jon Drummond and Kim Collins applied the banned products.
Victor Conte is sure that Dwain Chambers, the British sportsperson, used steroids. Conte sold these drugs to Chambers in 2003. As it is known, Chambers applied tetrahydrogestrinone.
Maurice Green, the American sportsman, administrated steroids, testosterone cream, EPO and certain stimulants. Angel Guillermo Heredia said that he had provided these medications to Maurice Green. But it is necessary to notice that this American sportsman started to get these medicines from Heredia after he had got 2 medals in Olympics.
Although the founder of the BALCO doesn’t know about all nuances connected with getting and administration of steroids by these all athletes who participated in the Sydney Olympics, he confirms that performance-enhancing drugs had a significant role at the women’s 100 meter final of the 2003 Championship in France. Conte sold steroids to five of the finalists.
Kelly White, the winner, purchased the banned drugs from Conte too. After she had tested positive for Modafinil, she lost her gold medals. Later Kelly White said that she had taken tetrahydrogestrinone and the blood booster EPO.
Conte wasn’t surprised about the advance of anti-doping companies connected with steroids in sport.
